There's really no good reason Manny Ramirez should ever be chasing a wiffle ball bat for someone, we don't know why he did it for us, but he did. Thanks Manny. The AP says what this is better than we could. "Gar Ryness is known as the 'Batting Stance Guy'. He does impressions of major leaguers in their batting stances. Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez loved his mimickry." "Loved" is a relative term. Enjoy.

Coming to you from the back alleys of Angel Stadium and the All-Star Game FanFest, it's Batting Stance Guy chatting it up with 2-time Cy Young winner and the 1985 Kansas City Royals' World Series MVP, Bret Saberhagen. Find out everything you always wanted to know about the former all-star, but were afraid to ask, as BSG gets his take on beaning, stances, and "odd-year" success. Enjoy!

Been a rough week for the Tampa Bay Rays, but they'll try and stop the bleeding as they look to avoid the sweep vs. the Padres this afternoon. If not, Evan Longoria won't be able to cheer himself up with a Starbucks Lemon Loaf. What else does he not like? Find out in Questions From BSG's Daughters.

When you're trying to imitate stances for all of baseball, it helps to talk to someone who's been around. Enter Hard Hittin' Mark Whiten, who played for 8 MLB teams in his illustrious career. BSG took some time at spring training in Tampa this year to talk stances with the journeyman slugger. Enjoy!

After the Yanks defeat at the hands of the D-Backs last night, the Rays will look to reclaim a share of the best record in the league tonight as they take on the NL West leading San Diego Padres. The Rays will have many questions to answer down the stretch about their ability to hang in the brutal AL East, but first Carlos Pena has to answer questions from BSG's daughters.

As interleague play plunges onward, the Tampa Bay Rays take their best-record-in-baseball up against the NL East leading Atlanta Braves as they try to win the series tonight. Rays fans will be hoping for a repeat of Evan Longoria's 3 RBI Tueday night outing this evening. But first, he's got the ultimate challenge before him. It's Who Knows you Better with the Batting Stance Guy.

Tampa Bay Rays slugger, Carlos Pena, recently ended a 6 game HR streak, coming just 2 games shy of the MLB record held by Dale Long, Don Mattingly, and the recently retired, Ken Griffey Jr. It was the 2nd biggest moment of his 2010 season, as just a few months earlier, to his great surprise, he got to play Who Knows You Better with the Batting Stance Guy. It's been a big year for Carlos, its been a real big year.

It's not likely that you'll get face-time with one of the 50 greatest batters of your lifetime. It's even less likely that you'll have recently been allowed to write abook about such a subject and get to show that batter his chapter in your book. And it's way way less likely that you'll compare that batter to Pedro Cerrano as you hand him a copy of said book. But when BSG meets Jim Thome, we'd expect nothing less.

If you've read his book, then you know BSG is a bay area native. If not, Amazon's got plenty of copies of A Love Letter to Baseball just waiting for you to enjoy! So it was quite the homecoming last week when BSG took the field at Oakland Coliseum to chat it up with the A's. Only slightly less interesting to the crowd than the post-game fireworks, BSG was still able to talk stances with Andrew Bailey and Daric Barton. Enjoy!

Last night the Washington Nationals drafted 17 yr old hitting golden boy, Bryce Harper, 1st overall. Tonight, in a story receiving almost no media attention, the Nats pitching prospect phenom (say that 3 times fast) Stephen Strasburg, takes the mound for the 1st time. Big news for sure, but the Washington rookie drafted after Strasburg last year (and called up first), Drew Storen, is the first of those 3 to play Questions From My Daughters with BSG, sooooo...... what's bigger?

REPLAY : Well Nats fans, you may have missed a Strasburg start last night, but we've got the next best thing... it's BSG at your park! So come out to Nationals Park tonight to see BSG on the field for pre-game, and bring a copy of your book (you have bought it right) to have the stance-master himself sign it. Who knows, maybe he'll play questions from his daughters with you.

BSG will be in the San Francisco Bay Area tomorrow (more on that later) where the Giants are currently taking on Ryan Zimmerman and the Washington Nationals. He recently got a chance to sit down with Zimmerman to play a round of "Who Knows you Best." So if you like the sound of two men drinking Gatorade, and obscure questions and answers with MLB All-Stars, then this interview's for you. Enjoy!

Well folks we're just 5 days out from Opening Day, and we hope you're as excited as BSG is for the start of the season. Thankfully, the offseason gave him a chance to heal from leg injuries incurred while imitating San Francisco Giant Eugenio Velez. A word to the wise, stretch first. Filmed last year for G-Mag, here's BSG with Velez, the Panda, and the rest of the feel-good 09 Giants. Enjoy!

The Twins are in this thing folks. Their race with Detroit looks to be the only divisional battle left to watch down the stretch. BSG was recently in the land of 1,000 lakes to entertain the Twins and enjoy the hospitality at the Minnesota State Fair. We're not saying the visit had anything to do with their current success, but hey it couldn't of hurt right? Right? Bert Blyleven, this is all for you.

So we know things aren't looking great right now Milwaukee. But at least your players still have a good sense of humor. Here's the rest of the warm up circle entertainment. Enjoy!

You know who we love, the Milwaukee Brewers. And we're not gonna lie, we're pretty sure the feeling is mutual. Check it out as BSG goes on the field at Miller Park for a little pre-game entertainment in the warm-up circle. Enjoy!

There comes a point in a man's life when he has to be comfortable with big, athletic, grown men vigorously stretching in a circle around him while he does goofy little impressions of them and their colleagues for amusement. The court jester lives by one rule: keep the court laughing. Fortunately for us the Rockies all have pretty good senses of humor. Whew. Enjoy!

One is a National League All-Star and the reigning Homerun Derby champ, the other, a 36 yr old balding man with a wiffle ball bat. It's a showdown for the ages as Batting Stance Guy goes head to head with the Milwaukee Brewer's Prince Fielder in the first ever "Swing-Off!" And if you haven't seen Prince do his thing before, we gotta tell you, you're in for a treat. The other guy, well.. you know.

Just as no good U2 concert ends without a rendition of "With or Without You", there have been few appearances in the last year for BSG that haven't involved a Kevin Youkilis swing. Back in February BSG took a trip down to Florida to visit with the Red Sox at spring training and got some face time with the man with the best stance in baseball. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about the AL All-Star, from why he sweats in his own eyes to why he based his warm-up swing on Jeter's (yikes) in this 5-part "interview" with BSG. Enjoy!

So while we realize that some of the baseball nation's... umm "love," for Mr. Ramirez may have faded a little in the past few weeks, we hope that you won't hold it against BSG. We can promise you the only performance-enhancing drug he uses with regularity is the pure cane sugar found in Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chunk Cookies. I mean seriously, you don't think a grown man behaves this way w/o a daily afternoon sugar rush do you? If you're interested in knowing more about what makes the man tick, check out these videos. Enjoy.

You know, it's true what they say, everything does sound better with a Dominican accent. Or maybe it's just that we're suckers for praise from Manny Ramirez. Either way, if you've ever wondered what the Dodgers slugger's laugh sounds like, we've got it in abundance. Enjoy!

As BSG so casually mentioned on his appearance on MLB Network (name-dropper), last week he got the pleasure of meeting and “performing” for Carlos Quentin and several other big league sluggers. So as this train of batting stance-related appearances rolls on, we’re pleased to present those interactions in all their unlikely glory. Enjoy: Carlos Quentin [...]
