The Mets had a rough weekend, losing the subway series to the Yanks and ending their 7 game road winning streak. And to add insult to injury, Johan Santana managed to tie the Mets’ single season record of 3 allowed grand slams in the process. Ouch. But fear not Mets fans, BSG is here to ease your pain with memories of times not so long ago. So here they are, fresh out of 1986, the World Champion New York Mets.

Last night the Washington Nationals drafted 17 yr old hitting golden boy, Bryce Harper, 1st overall. Tonight, in a story receiving almost no media attention, the Nats pitching prospect phenom (say that 3 times fast) Stephen Strasburg, takes the mound for the 1st time. Big news for sure, but the Washington rookie drafted after Strasburg last year (and called up first), Drew Storen, is the first of those 3 to play Questions From My Daughters with BSG, sooooo…… what’s bigger?

Aubrey Huff’s inside-the-park HR yesterday put the capper on the Giants’ hot start to the 2010 season. BSG will miss the presence of Carney Lansford on the SF coaching staff, but he loves the stances he leaves behind. Sandoval, Velez, Rowand – all gold.
