It’s the trading deadline & Miguel Tejada just got moved to the Padres. Remember when he blew a gasket after D Lowe K’d T Long to end the 2OO4 ALDS? So do we. It’s the All-Temper team….

Nats fans, if you missed BSG at the ballpark last night, fear not, the good folks at MASN made sure to capture the magic for us all. Check it out as BSG breaks down the Nationals starting lineup for Johnny Holliday and Ray Knight. Thanks to everyone who came out to the park, to MASN for taking such good care of us, and to Ray Knight just for being Ray Knight. Enjoy!

It’s all about the West Coast this week folks. If you missed “Mound-Gate,” starring the age old Dodgers-Giants rivalry, Don Mattingly, Jonathan Broxton, Bruce Bochy’s vision, and ultimately Andres Torres’s bat, don’t worry BSG will fill you in on that, and all the other happenings not in Cooperstown this past week. And if you have any questions, just ask him yourself in D.C. on Wednesday when the Nationals take on the Braves @ Nationals Park. If your copy of the book is sadly unsigned, now’s your chance. It’s the Week In Review!
25. July 2010
Batting Stance Guy would like to send a heartfelt congratulations to Andre Dawson on being the lone player inducted into the 2010 Hall of Fame! We’ve got nothing against Whitey Herzog, but that’s some difficult stance footage to come by. Enjoy your day in Cooperstown Hawk… I’m sorry, Mr. Hawk.
20. July 2010
Earlier this year BSG put down the razor for a few days to bring you good people the 1st and 2nd All-Mustache teams, the All-Beard team, and the first ever All-Fu Manchu team. It was a strong, but incomplete effort. Today he completes that illustrious set of facial hair goodness, by bringing you the best kept chin hairs in MLB history. It’s the All-Goatee Team, in under a minute!

Now that we’re through the allstar break, we hope everyone enjoyed the start of the second half of the season this weekend. The Cardinals and A’s for sure did, picking up where they left off to stretch their winning streaks to 5 games. The White Sox on the other hand…. BSG breaks it all down for you this week, from where else, but Jackson Mississippi, home of the Mississippi Braves, Brian McCann’s MLB roots, and Phil Wellman’s antics. It’s the Week in Review!
16. July 2010
BSG had quite the week at the All-Star Game thanks to the good folks at Lexus and Yardbarker. We’d like to thank all the fans who played along at FanFest and to everyone who’s followed the action here on bsg.com this week. So as the 2nd half of the 2010 season gets underway, we bid adieu to Anaheim with a little game of Angels trivia with some Halos’ faithful. Who knows their team better?
15. July 2010
BSG just had too many good ideas for Bud Selig to fit into one video. So it’s time for round 2 of his baseball innovations pitch to the fans at the All-Star FanFest. A “singing” penalty for relief pitchers, required tweets from scoring position, gifts from the crowd… at first base; these are just a few of the gems BSG tossed to the crowd. You decide what to get on the commissioner’s desk..
14. July 2010
When you make it your business to know the stance of every player in baseball, past and present, you get pretty familiar with the fashion trends from around the league. BSG fancies himself something of a jersey connoisseur, so the scene at the All-Star FanFest and Home Run Derby was a veritable buffet of nostalgic delights. Follow along as he scours the crowd at Angel Stadium looking for fans with an eye for the obscure.
14. July 2010
BSG was so inspired by the good folks at Lexus and their passionate pursuit of automotive innovation that he scoured the crowd at the All-Star FanFest to find the best ideas for innovating America’s game. The letter may already be in the mail to Bud Selig on this list (cause we got some real winners here) but don’t let that stop you from chiming in. Just think of these as a starting point. So here they are, from the 2010 All-Star game, BSG’s “Baseball Innovations,” Volume 1.

Coming off an evening that saw the National League win it’s first All-Star Game since 1996, New York Times national baseball reporter, Tyler Kepner might want to change his answer on “story of the year” in Major League Baseball, but we’ll cut him a break on that one. BSG is much less merciful with Tyler as he does his annual Mid-Season Report with a Reputable Reporter… for the first time. It’s more BSG from the 2010 All-Star game in Anaheim. Enjoy!
13. July 2010
Coming to you from the back alleys of Angel Stadium and the All-Star Game FanFest, it’s Batting Stance Guy chatting it up with 2-time Cy Young winner and the 1985 Kansas City Royals’ World Series MVP, Bret Saberhagen. Find out everything you always wanted to know about the former all-star, but were afraid to ask, as BSG gets his take on beaning, stances, and “odd-year” success. Enjoy!

Coming to you from the shores of Mailbu, it’s the Independence Day edition of the Week in Review! BSG has much to say about the upcoming all-star break and the league’s first rendition of the rosters, but he’ll save that for later in the week. For your national holiday, he digs deep into the numbers supplied by the good folks at wezen-ball.com, and comes back with the only 4th of July, baseball-themed, video-blog to analyze base-running times. God bless America. It’s the Week in Review!
