BSG Movie Stances Vol 2 : Electric Boogaloo

BSG Movie Stances Vol 2 : Electric Boogaloo

If Micheal Bay can make not one, but two Transformers movies, then we can surely offer a second helping of famous batting stances from the big screen. If we’ve missed any of your favorites here, hit us up with suggestions and maybe we’ll make it a trilogy. Enjoy!

Famous Movie Stances : Vol. 1

Famous Movie Stances : Vol. 1

The first Michael Bay film of the year hitting theatres can only mean one thing… the summer movie season has officially begun. Not to be outdone, BSG decided to take a short break from the big leagues to tackle the best stances from the silver screen. A tip to all you production researchers out there, make sure to get a handle on Shoeless Joe Jackson’s left/right switch before putting Ray Liotta at the plate. Enjoy!

Yankees : 2009 Edition

Yankees : 2009 Edition

Partly because the baseball season is now in full swing, and partly because we agree that the current stance video for the Yanks doesn’t really do the team, or BSG, full justice, we’re breaking down the 09′ edition of the Bronx Bombers.  Since we’re dealing with New York fans here, we suppose “Enjoy” may be a little too hopeful, so let the critiquing begin! (And Enjoy!)

More BSG from the AP

More BSG from the AP

So while we realize that some of the baseball nation’s… umm “love,” for Mr. Ramirez may have faded a little in the past few weeks, we hope that you won’t hold it against BSG.  We can promise you the only performance-enhancing drug he uses with regularity is the pure cane sugar found in Mrs. Field’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies.  I mean seriously, you don’t think a grown man behaves this way w/o a daily afternoon sugar rush do you?  If you’re interested in knowing more about what makes the man tick, check out these videos.  Enjoy.

Art of the Stance

Art of the Stance

Partly because we wanna give you you every opportunity to see this, and partly because we can’t get enough of watching it ourselves (total narcissim) here’s that E:60 piece one more time.  It’s called the “Art of the Stance,” it was produced by BlueFoot Entertainment outta Hartford CT, it’s been airing on ESPN with some regularity, and what can we say, we love it.  Hope you do too.  Enjoy

BSG and Manny Ramirez

BSG and Manny Ramirez

There’s really no good reason Manny Ramirez should ever be chasing a wiffle ball bat for someone, we don’t know why he did it for us, but he did.  Thanks Manny.  The AP says what this is better than we could.   “Gar Ryness is known as the ‘Batting Stance Guy’. He does impressions of major leaguers in their batting stances. Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez loved his mimickry.”  “Loved” is a relative term.  Enjoy.

From the Archives… BSG on Angels Live

From the Archives… BSG on Angels Live

The year was 2008, it was early September, the race for the presidency was heating up,  Manny was still settling in in L.A., a Rays/Phillies Series seemed unlikely, and a little known man with a wiffle ball bat was making his rounds through the pre-game shows of so-cal baseball.  Alot has changed since BSG’s appearance on FSN’s Angels Live, but the wiffle ball bat is still going strong.  Enjoy some footage from the archives.

BSG at Spring Training with the Red Sox

BSG at Spring Training with the Red Sox

The good folks at WEEI in Boston had BSG down to Florida for spring training with the Sox, and we’ve got the video to prove it.  It’s nothing but fun with Big Papi, Youkilis, and the gang.  You know, just another week in an insane world where posting youtube videos gets you one on ones with MLB playes.  Feel free to start hating him now.  Enjoy.

BSG on KNBR 680/1050

BSG was on the air with Murph & Mac of the bay area’s KNBR 680/1050 this morning talking stances.  After growing up in the bay area, he always knew he’d find a way to impress the folks at his 25 year high school reunion, and here’s the proof.  Have a listen:

Back with the Sox

Our good friends from WEEI in Boston had BSG down to Florida this week to do his thing for the Red Sox.  It was a dream come true for everyone involved… well, mainly just for us, but he did manage to get some laughs.  WEEI has more footage to come, but for now, here’s a [...]

More from the road

More from the road

As BSG so casually mentioned on his appearance on MLB Network (name-dropper), last week he got the pleasure of meeting and “performing” for Carlos Quentin and several other big league sluggers.  So as this train of batting stance-related appearances rolls on, we’re pleased to present those interactions in all their unlikely glory.  Enjoy:

He’s Baaaaaaackkk!!

Yes folks, we’re still alive.  And we’ve been busy too.  There’ll be more to come as the season gets going, but for now, we’d like to present BSG’s inaugural appearance on the brand new MLB Network.  We always knew posting internet videos from a backyard would get us screen time with Harold Reynolds.  Just nuts.  [...]

BSG goes digital

BSG goes digital

If the batting stances in the next release of MLB: The Show look vaguely familiar and surprisingly accurate, well, let’s just say, it won’t be a coincidence.  BSG had a big day yesterday recording stances for the good people of Sony Entertainment.  Amazing to think this unmarketable skill has actually found a market.  And we’ve [...]
